MARCH 4 , 2010 - IN THE NEWS

Thank You

Thanks to your hard work and vote on Tuesday, I am honored to have the Republican Party’s nomination once again to represent Texas’ 32nd District. As a team of friends and neighbors, volunteers and voters, we sent a powerful message that we are fed up with the big-government, job-killing agenda of Democrats in Washington.

The challenges to our nation’s future are too great for us to ignore. And in 2010 my goal is nothing less than to end the reign of Nancy Pelosi as Speaker. By taking back the House, Republicans will put a stop to the Obama-Pelosi agenda and instead promote policies that balance the budget, cut taxes, and grow jobs.

As part of that effort, I am elated to relay a positive story for Republicans in this year’s voter turnout for the Dallas County. With a total of 97,568 Republican Primary ballots cast in Dallas County, we surpassed the highest vote total for a single primary race in Dallas County in over ten years. The fact that Republicans out-number Democrats in the parties’ respective nominating elections is proof that we are on the rise in Dallas County.

These vote totals tell us that many Independents and formerly-disillusioned Republicans are looking to the Republican Party again to return our nation to fiscal discipline. It proves that our pro-growth proposals to spur job creation with tax relief resonate with voters in these tough economic times.

This is not a new development. Last year thousands of concerned taxpayers showed up at my town hall meetings, rallying for smaller government and conservative solutions. That energy and involvement continues in 2010 and helped drive voter turnout for this election.

We have an historic opportunity to make 2010 a great year for Republicans. Together, we can hold Democrats accountable in November and usher in a new Congress committed to empowering the American people to success.

Thank you,
