Sessions Wins Race for NRCC Chairman
Washington, DC – U.S. Congressman Pete Sessions (TX-32) today was elected by his Republican colleagues in Congress to become Chairman of the National Republican Congressional Committee. Sessions released the following statement:
“I am honored to be elected Chairman of the National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC), and I thank my colleagues for their support as I begin working immediately to win back a Republican majority. As a member of a unified Republican Leadership team, I look forward to working with Leader Boehner and our entire Republican Conference to translate our coordinated, principled efforts into electoral success.
“Tom Cole has led the NRCC through difficult times, and I thank him for his principled, dedicated work to win Republican seats in Congress. Under Chairman Cole’s leadership, the NRCC became a stronger institution, and I am grateful for his dedicated service.
“Today marks a new beginning for the NRCC. I will build an aggressive, energized, and modernized NRCC by immediately working to strengthen fundraising, implement strategic candidate recruitment, update messaging and technology, and create organizational strength and long-term strategies to secure a Republican Majority.
“My mission is simple: Republicans will have my tireless and steadfast resolve to win 218 seats in the House of Representatives. Rebuilding the Republican Majority begins today.”
